|Elliott Sound Products||Project 33 (Rev-A) - Loudspeaker Protection and Muting|
The circuit for this project is changed considerably from the original published project. The circuit is dramatically simplified so that the board could be made as small as possible, yet all functional parameters are essentially unchanged.
The circuit simplification is the result of combining as many functions into each stage as was possible, and the detector uses a single transistor instead of a pair - this also removes the need for a negative power supply and improves reliability. This PCB should be considered essential for all power amplifiers, especially where an electronic crossover is used, and tweeters are connected directly to the amplifier.
